The Non-GMO soya intended for animal feed demand increases in France, and more generally in Western Europe. Currently, the French Non-GMO soy products feed market highly depends on imports. French soya sector has two aims: to extend the soybean crop areas and to develop processing tools at regional scale.
The case study carried out by Terres Univia (Interbranch organisation of vegetable oil and protein sector) aims to appreciate animal feed value chain for local I.P. soybeans and soymeals, starting with the example of trituration company Extrusel. This company is established since 1988 in Chalon-Sur-Saône, one of main “historic” areas of soya production. Its links between collectors (upstream) and feed manufacturers (downstream) will be studied through surveys.
