Clovergrass – the basic crop in organic production (Denmark)

Clovergrass as the main crop on dairy farms is a long-term tradition in both organic and conventional production in Denmark. In organic farming 1/3 of the area is clovergrass and on most dairy farms 2/3 is clovergrass. In Denmark most of the clovergrass is grown on arable land, and normally there is two crop rotations. Near the stable clovergrass for grazing, and further away primarily for cutting. The composition of the species is adjusted for the use of the field.
